how to make drop down menus from simple text (site map)

    I want to make drop down menus (not those like built-in in the themes) for simple text.

    For example, if i write here: “>About”, when somebody clicks it, i want it to open a list of pages (pre-defined) downward, just below it. And when somebody clicks it again, i want the list to close. Please tell me the HTML code for this purpose.

    Regards.

    Hi. There’s no HTML code that works on WordPress.com for that. To my knowledge, the only “drop-down” menus you can have here are either in certain widgets (Archives, Categories) or in a custom menu.

    Bro, tell me atleast. Maybe it will help me somewhere else ;)

    I mean regardless of the fact that the code works here or not.

    If you are setting it up for your pages, I have mine set up like that. The pages are set up as a custom menu. I have a couple on mine with drop-down categories – accomplishments, legal & useful stuff for diabetics. The “title” one is set up in the custom link field on the menu page. For the URL, use # (I have # in the link URL and Accomplishments in the label. On the right side of the page where your pages are listed, you want to indent the pages that you want under that label and they will show up as a drop down under that.

    @tayyabatiq:
    If you mean dropdowns in your header menu, you can create and load a custom menu, as kellywpa suggested. Instructions here:

    If you mean dropdowns in the content of a post or a page, it can’t be done in a wordpress.com blog, as airodyssey said. And this is the wordpress.com support forum: we don’t provide support for “somewhere else”.
