How to make email notifications of posts contain only an excerpt of the content?

  How to have email notifications of new posts contain only an excerpt of the content instead of the entire new posting.
  For some of the blogs I follow, I receive an email notification with only a small excerpt of the posting and if I choose to read more, I must click “read more of this post” which takes me directly to the blog site. I would like to turn that feature on for my blog as well.

  Hi there,

  You can control whether to send full posts or summaries at Settings -> Reading.

  The option is labelled “For each article in a feed, show” and controls how posts are sent in both notification emails and in the feed.
