How to make existing sidebar image active link to a pdf

Hi all. Hope you can help. I’ve been reading through past topics but haven’t found one on point. Hope the fix isn’t too embarrassingly easy and I was just missing it.
I have an image in my sidebar and would like to make it clickable so that it leads to a readable pdf. I’ve uploaded the pdf file to my uploads — but can’t figure out how to work the two together so the image leads to the open pdf file.
My blog is http://mamagigi.wordpress.com and the image is titled “Latest AFTH column,” under my photo and then latest posts, and has my column logo (a redhead mom pushing carriage) — my column has been published in a newsletter and I’d like to link it here.
It will be published quarterly so it will need to be updated with the latest column and/or an archive of clickable pdfs.
Any advice is most appreciated. Thanks much!

Please don’t link to a PDF without warning people. They routinely crash my computer and I bear no love for people who don’t warn me in advance that they’re using them.

Getting into the habit of looking at the bottom left of your browser when your pointer is over the link to see where the link is about to go is a useful practice…..it avoids the nasty little “my new song.exe” virus surprises. It’d also be a pointer to a PDF. Although now I’m on Linux, all the usual .exe .dll etc don’t affect me, even if I do click on them.
This may or may not be relevant, but an extension for Firefox called “PDF Download” is handy, when you click on a .pdf file it pops up an option box, asking you what you want to do and waiting for your response before doing anything else…….open it in browser, in third party program, download it etc. There’s a few pointer extensions for Firefox too, which give a little icon of the file type under the link, or a location of the link.

I know that, Dirk. I’m talking about protocol for bloggers. It’s better to let people know what they’re in for rather than replicating ancient Geocities laisse faire etiquette.
