How to make header image clear (not blurry) in Lodestar theme

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using Lodestar theme and the header images have turned out very sharp for the first two of my pages, but the images on the rest of the pages have turned out blurry even though the image that I uploaded had a very high resolution. I have a free, not upgraded account.

  • Hi there,

I confirmed that the site is linking to header images that are very small , like less than 300×300 px instead of the recommended 2000×1200 px. The images look blurry because the small image is being stretched to fill the page.

Have you confirmed the sizes of the images in your Media Library? https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/

When you choose the image, click Edit, then you’ll see on the right hand side the dimensions and file format.

You may need to select a new Feature Image for each page. Here’s instructions on how to do that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

Here’s some information about the theme: Lodestar

  • Can you confirm the size of your images?

If you are using Windows right click the image that is saved on your computer -> Properties -> Details tab -> read the Dimensions.
Lodestar recommends at least 2000 pixels wide and 1200 pixels tall.

If the image is that size or larger are you cropping the photo when you’re adding it as a featured image?
