How to make home page show my most recent post, and only that post.
-
When a viewer first goes to my site, my most recent post appears. However, when you click away from it then return to the “Home” menu, the most recent post no longer appears. Instead the following message appears: “404. THAT’S AN ERROR. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Perhaps searching can help.”
Any ideas how to retain the Home menu as showing the most recent post?
Thank you for your kind assistance.

Hi, I don’t think so. I have the following ticked. “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu”
-
No – homepage is set to “Front page displays Your latest posts”.
And indeed it displays the latest post when you first go to the site. The problem is that if you then click away from it, but click on “Home” to go back to the Home page, it shows an error. I can’t work out why.

Hi. That is quite weird. I’ve just visited your site and you’re right.
One thing I’ve noticed is that when you first visit the site, you go to “http://corporatewarcrimes.com/” but when you click on “Home” you go to “http://corporatewarcrimes.com/home-3/”. Can you check that your on your menu, the “Home” link is set to “http://corporatewarcrimes.com/”?
In the meantime, I’ll tag this for staff attention so that they can take a look at the problem.
Thanks,
Tom -
Ok thanks. I have deleted the “Home” menu for now. So that there are only three tabs at the top (About / Civil liability / Criminal liability).
So I guess my question boils down to how to add a new home menu which, when clicked, only shows the latest post.
Thanks for your help so far.

Hi. You could add a link to your menu directing to “http://corporatewarcrimes.com” and name it “Home” whilst staff take a look at the issue if you wanted.
Thanks,

That seems to have worked in that it shows all posts when you click on home. Thank you. Ideally, if it is possible, I’d prefer the Home link to only show the most recent post. But no big deal if that’s not possible.
Thanks again

Hi Russell. That may be possible by editing the “Blog pages show at most” value on https://corporatewarcrimes.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php to 1.
Let me know if that works.
Thanks,

Hi Russell,
Looking at your site it looks like you found Tom’s suggestion for setting the posts page to 1 post helpful.
Let me know if you have any other questions about your site. :)
