how to make homepage change places with another page in a blog?
-
When I started at WordPress, I immediately posted full-pledge article contents on it. Then I made another page and labeled it Blog Posts.
I made several posts on this Blog Post page.
Now, I want my Homepage renamed to ” Articles” and then my Blog Post page be made into my Home page.
Any idea how to do this?

Without a link to your blog I have no idea what you are talking about or what you are trying to achieve.

My blogsite is http://www.skilledwriter.wordpress.com
It has a Homepage. This homepage contains many full-pledge article contents.
My blogsite has also a page called BLOG Post. In this page, I write comments to world events.
Now, I want my BLOG Post page to be always on the front. I wanted it to be the homepage visitors see when they visit my site.
On the other hand, I want my current Homepage renamed to ” Articles” and be just secondary page of my blog.
Any suggestion on how to do this?

When you say ‘full-pledge’ do you mean ‘fully-fledged’? Otherwise I don’t know what that means.

To rosclarke,
My mistake. You’re right, it should be spelled ” full-fledged”. Thanks for the correction.Anyway, I tried the suggested solution as outlined in http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/.
Seems this one does not work for me.

It seems you’re missing something, because the static front page is indeed the way to do what you want, as wpvstp suggested. Here’s how it goes:
Publish a new BLANK page titled “Articles”. Then go to Settings>Reading >”Front page displays”, click “A static page”, select “Blog posts” as your front page and “Articles” as your posts page, save changes.
If you don’t want the “Blog posts” tab in your header, go to Manage>Pages and assign this page to a parent page (any page will do).

I did it!
Thanks, panaghiotisadam! I was editing my blog using the latest version of Opera and that explained why I was not getting the desired results.
Now, switched to Firefox 3 and the change implemented immediately.
Thank you.Now my question is, how can I ” rename” my past Homepage to ” Articles”?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry…fragmented answer here.
That is step one above. Step two: edit the permalink located right under the title in the editor. You will need to change the address to reflect the new page title.
