how to make images get bigger when clicked

I took an online training program for WordPress and it showed how you can do something I think they called “magic box” where you upload an image in a medium size and then on the site you can click on that image and it pops up bigger. Is that only possible with a WordPress.org site or can you also do that on WordPress.com?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can upload thumbnail images and link them to larger images which can open in the same or a new window, or as an attachment page.

We cannot use Light Box on wp.com.

Thanks, thanks, thanks…there is so much to learn and it’s so specific to what an individual wants to do and the materials that person wants to use…so thanks…I actually have been trying to find someone to coach me for pay in person and have had a hard time coming up with anyone…I even answered a few Craigslist ads from people offering to create a WordPress site inexpensively, or teach me how to do it…but so far I haven’t heard from them either! I live in NYC and I am enrolled in an educational technology program at NYU–and I still haven’t been able to find someone to do this! I keep asking my classmates. I would like to learn to do this myself but time is of the essence, since I need the site to find work, having been laid off recently. Anyway, thanks again!

Please allow me to be blunt. You don’t have to spend a dime on hiring a blogging mentor to blog on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. I suggest you remove all sense of urgency, slow way down and use the resources that are available to you.

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page. The searchbox there provides results from both the support documentation and from forum threads. http://en.support.wordpress.com/introduction/

Strictly speaking a blog is a website. A WordPress blog can either be structured as a page based website or its conventional post based structure can be retained. Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

    What’s critical is:
    (1) a clear comprehension of the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
    (2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
