How to make my video text widget smaller

Hi,
If you look at my blog I have a you tube video in the side bar text widget. However it comes out longer (with more space than needed)–and I don’t know how to fix it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

all’s well now: linked and a member.Twenty Eleven has a sidebar width of 200 px so you need to make the video narrower like this adding &w=200 to the shortcode in the html editor:
Video Customization Options
You can specify the width and height of the embedded video by adding &w=… or &w=…&h=…to the shortcode. It will automatically adapt to your theme’s content length and give you preferred dimensions.

Hi,
I don’t understand. this seems really hard. I just read that page.
(I don’t have twenty ten–by the way)I don’t wan to make the video narrower. I want to make it less tall or shorter.
Please explain step by step what to do–

I add &h5 (and then tried &h2 and put it outside the brackets–and it did nothing.
then I put it inside the brackets and it still did nothing. -
Hurray.
I figured it out. . . I had such a hard time a previous video issue (still not resolved)–that I was certain this wouldn’ work either.What I did is added &h=225… to inside the bracket–which is what you might call shortcode–and it worked!
I experimented with the number to see how tall it would be.
Now it looks much better.Thanks for the help.

It looks like you got it to work?
There was some odd stuff in your source code linking to the YouTube so I think the link you were using to insert the video was not quite right?The site linked to your username and the link you provided is wearing the Twenty Ten theme.

Where is your other video issue?
I think that YouTube seems to have different links to its videos: featured and other special links. The only ones to use with wp are the direct links to the one you want to embed.

My other issue is Vodpod. I wanted to learn how to post videos which are non you tube–such as CPUC meetings. I signed up to VodPod–and I hate it. It posts everything on the site–even if I mark to post it as a draft.
I have no control over it–that is I can’t put any text or writing in it–
Since this is a different, I’ll report this later–but my frustration is so high right now–or brain cells are not working enough–to deal with this now.At least my videos in the text widget–now look much nicer.

Vodpod is not a blogging site. It is JUST for videos. It’s easy to use if you look at it that way. Paste the code in, then get the WordPress.com shortcode, and put it in your blog. I use it all the time; you can even put in livestreams, which you couldn’t normally do.
Post the code in your blog and put the words there.
Do not post anything to Vodpod you don’t want to share, because it’s a sharing site.
