How to make only the first part of the post appear on the blog's main page?

  Hi support people,
  I’d be grateful for a hint. I have been dreaming of following feature: I would love to have only the first few sentences/ paragraphs of the posts on the start page of my blog. In order to see the full post, readers would have to click the title. Is that an option that is wordpress-doable or does that depend on the theme?
