How to make posts on main page short, clickable excerpts instead of full posts
-
Hello, I’m struggling to find a way to make the posts on the main page of my blog come up as short excerpts instead of the full blog posts. I’d like users to be able to scroll down and click on the pages that interest them rather than have to read each thing in full before getting to the next one.
There doesn’t seem to be any ‘edit html’ button on the customise theme page. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello loverkillller,
You can select which text you want to be shown on your blog page and archives inserting the “Read More” button (here is a screenshot showing where ti find it in the deafult WordPress.com editor and here another one in the classic wp-admin editor).
Unfortunately you cannot make the entire excerpt clickable.
Please let me know if that helped!
Bye!

Hi again loverkilller.
Also, If you prefer not having to add this “Read More” tag to each post individually you could change the theme you are using to another that displays excerpts by default, instead of the whole post.
Here is a link to a list of themes that have this feature.
Good luck with your blog, it looks delicious!

Thank you, that was all really helpful! I’ll continue with my current theme and use the read-more function for the time being I think.
Have a lovely day!
