How to make social buttons visible all the time?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there all

I’m trying to set up my blog to be as easily functional as possible, including social network buttons after each post. It’s very easily done through ‘sharing’ in settings, the only problem is the buttons aren’t actually visible by default, only when you hover a mouse over the drop down menu. This seems to me a waste of space (there’s a whole bar with just the drop down arrow showing) and less enticing for folks to click on them.

Anyone know a way around this to show them all the time?

    A (:

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We expect visitors to read full posts befor they click any like or sharing buttons. That’s why the social networking icons appear at the end of our posts and display when we click the blog title or comment lin as that’s when the full post can be read on it’s own page.

I can’t see the buttons on the front page.
Make sure to select “Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results” for “Show buttons on” setting. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#troubleshooting

Thanks for your response, but that wasn’t quite my question. I’m searching for a way to make the buttons visible on the page without hovering your mouse over the button; in other words I’d like one of those neat button rows you see so often on blogs. Any ideas?

You can choose to display the buttons as you have done, or you can choose to display all the buttons individually side-by-side below the post.

Thanks but I can’t see the option to do this, how did you achieve it?

here > Settings > Sharing is where I drug and dropped my buttons into this box on my sharing page
    Enabled Services
Services dragged here will appear individually.

What you have done is out them all in this box:
Services dragged here will be hidden behind a share button.
All you have to do is drag them out and drop them into the enabled services area.
    Then click “save changes”

Aha, now I see, exactly what I wanted. Thanks for all the help!
