How to make subcategories for my website.

Need some help. I have a website that I want to put in subcategories. Here a example.
Lets say my category is Flowers.So next to it I would like a drop down area that shows. Flowers – about
planting
care
harvest.Is there anyone out there that can help me.. Please. I am a newbie to all of this.

I’ve already made several categories be children of another category, but it doesn’t show any differentiation in the display. Thanks if you can help!

Until you assign a category and/or subcategory to a post and publish that post there is no data for the widget to display. Could that be your problem?

If that’s not the problem, then go to Appearance>Widgets, open the Categories widget, tick “Show hierarchy”, Save.

Hmm. I’m actually retroactively changing my categories. Well, thanks for the fast response! I also found this support page which seems most relevant; I’m about to try it out.
