How can I make theme fit full width, currently it has broad white margins to its left and right.

The margins are part of the Sela theme’s design and, it’s worth noting, it’s considered good practice in web design to include such spacing around a site’s main content.

If you’d still like to reduce the margins, then custom CSS will be required. The option of adding CSS is included in the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans. If you choose to upgrade, we can help with the specific CSS you need via our dedicated CSS forum.
If the above doesn’t work for you, you could consider a different theme from our repository that is wider than Sela by default.
