How to make WordPress allow Swedish Radio embedding?
-
Who do we talk to to allow embedding from Swedish Radio? Is there a security issue with the code, or what am I missing here? Here’s their code:
<iframe width=”100%” height=”150″ src=”http://sverigesradio.se/sida/embed?url=http%3a%2f%2fsverigesradio.se%2fsida%2favsnitt%2f707162%3fprogramid%3d4378″ frameborder=”0″></iframe>
I cannot find an email address to ask WordPress about this. If anyone has it, I’d love to give it a shot, to get an explanation at least. Thanks.

Hello rlidal!
Unfortunately the majority of the iframes are not supported on WordPress.com due to security reasons.
Could you ask the Sverige Radio if they can provide a ‘regular’ HTML script to use? That would be the best solution to allow you to have it embedded on your site.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you out with meanwhile. Thanks!

Not to seem too hardheaded, but wouldn’t those two solutions (Sveriges Radio changing their script vs. WordPress backing down) be equally “best”? :) Both are huge corporations that most likely won’t listen to a, when it comes down to it, unimportant suggestion of this kind.
But yeah, if you send this to anyone at WordPress, I’ll send it to Sveriges Radio, deal? We’ll rendezvous here when we hear back.
What is a regular HTML script by the way? So I know what to ask for.
(And are there security differences between those who use iframes? Soundcloud uses iframe, but we’re allowed to embed from them. Do they have any tighter security, you think?)

@rlidal, unfortunately I don’t have enough tech skills to explain why iframes are not safe enough to be embedded onto any WordPress.com websites, I’m sorry about that!
I do think, though, that the security issues are taken really seriously by the Staff, as their ultimate aim is to avoid any kind of breaches that might lead to a hack attack or personal data theft. I hope this is clear, apologies again if I’m not expressing myself in the best way possible.
As regards the ‘regular’ HTML (and apologies again if haven’t been clear again with this!) I meant any kind of HTML which doesn’t fall into the iframe category. For instance something like this for embedding images:
<img src="https://pixabay.com/static/uploads/photo/2015/05/07/12/16/apple-756386_960_720.jpg" alt="display this" width="50" height="50">I hope this is all clear, and I do hope that someone else with more skills than mine will jump in the discussion and explain to us all about the iframe security issues. I think it’d be awesome if your curiosity will be pleased. It’s good to learn new things everyday :)
