How to manually update theme

    Hello,

    I would like to update my theme “The Retailer” from vers 2.6 to 3.5. The automatic update is not available so I have to do it manually with the files.

    I have downloaded the tar.gz (ZIP) file. When I try to add the theme via the backend, it correctly load but I lost some of the parameter like (tags, boxed mode, etc). And it reset some of these, like header, footer, etc.

    I have tried to create child theme and keep the same style.CSS file, function.php, etc but it still the same issue. The folder hierarchy theme still completely different with this new version.

    I also try with a plugin to creater child theme. It works but the same setting and custimization are lost.

    Is there another way to update the theme to the new version and kepp all the settings and custimization ?

    Hey there @hdeuxo42. Your site isn’t hosted here with us, but can you contact the theme provider for recommended upgrade steps and also to confirm those fields will work after the update?
