How to Migrate followers from wordpress.com to wordpress.org
-
I’m trying to follow the directions on this page: https://jetpack.com/support/subscription-migration-tool/ to migrate followers from my wordpress.com site to my wordpress.org site. The settings tab – for my site it’s here: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/thestorysanctuary.com – doesn’t match what’s shown in the support doc. There’s no place to migrate followers. Help??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi kaseyheinly,
This tool works when your Website thestorysanctuary.com is self hosted and jet pack connected. Your self hosted website is hosted with namecheap but not sure whether it is jetpack connected.
The same is mentioned in the link you have suggested for jetpack support.

Hi kaseyheinly,
I’ll be happy to look at this for you. You mentioned transferring followers to thestorysanctuary.com — which site would you like to transfer them from?
Thanks!

Yes, thestorysanctuary site is Jetpack linked. I was able to migrate followers through the help directions before. I think now that I’m on an updated version of wordpress, the settings page has changed.

Hi there,
I think now that I’m on an updated version of wordpress, the settings page has changed.
I’m not sure what you mean. Which page exactly are you speaking of, and what has changed?
Both the Settings options on WordPress.com and in WP-Admin for thestorysanctuary.com will look different than what you’re used to – on WordPress.com that site will show the Jetpack settings, which are not exactly the same as for WordPress.com sites, and in WP-Admin you’ll see the options for the open source version of WordPress, which is what you’re using now.

Sorry for confusing you.
I’m looking here:
https://wordpress.com/plugins/thestorysanctuary.comI go to the settings tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. There’s no option to migrate followers. It’s not there.
My self-hosted blog has the Jetpack plugin already. It’s installed and connected to wordpress.com.
I’ve successfully migrated followers before using the directions here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
But this time, I’m following the directions and there isn’t an option to migrate followers on the settings page here:
https://wordpress.com/settings/general/thestorysanctuary.comI haven’t tried to migrate followers since the latest wordpress update, and now the tabs on the settings page (link above) don’t match the tabs shown on the support document, which led me to wonder if the migrate feature had been moved in the new version of wordpress? If it’s moved, that’s fine. It doesn’t matter. I really just need to know how to migrate my followers.
I’m sorry to be confusing. I’m really frustrated that this isn’t easier and I still can’t figure it out after so many days. :/
I just want to move my followers from http://youngadultbooks.wordpress.com to http://thestorysanctuary.com

You need to look under the Discussion tab in Settings:
https://wordpress.com/settings/discussion/thestorysanctuary.com
It mentions this in the Jetpack doc.
But I’ve now gone ahead and migrated those subscribers for you. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Thank you! I’ve bookmarked the page so I can do this myself in future. I appreciate your help.
