How to modify DNS Records

  I have bought a domain from wordpress.com
  Now I’d like to make it pointing at a tumblr blog.
  The problem is that I can’t edit DNS with wordpress nameservers and it seems Tumblr does not provide nameservers. How can I modify wordpress DNS records?

  You can modify your DNS records by going into the Dashboard > Store > Domains. Select “Edit DNS” next to the domain you want to modify.

  From there you can add different DNS record types or subdomains, there’s more detailed information here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/

  Also from that page:

  Note: that you cannot add an A record for a root level domain such as mydomain.com through the WordPress.com Custom DNS editor. You must use another DNS hosting provider if you want to do that.
