How to modify front page length

  Is there a way to set how long your front page can be? That is, can you specify how much text or how many posts should appear on the main site before they “fall off” and can only be accessed through archives? We only have 5-6 posts and the first ones are already falling off.

  Yes, you can change that under Settings->Reading.
