Hi, My employer asked me to open a wordpress.com site.
I mistakenly opened the url as a blog in my personal account.
So I now have the correct blog name in the wrong account.
I can’t create a new account with the same blog name (url) so how do I move the url to a new account.
I have a registered domain name and will change the wordpress.com site to a custom name once I have figured out how to move it to its own account.
    Thanks for your help

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account. No matter how many blogs are created under any username account there will be only one gravatar and one primary blog that can be linked to that username.

To disassociate blogs log out of WordPress.com and use another email address to create another username account. The use the process to transfer the blog(s) of your choice to your new username account.

    user roles http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

Thanks for your quick and detailed response I had a look at
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
And that seems to be the answer, just wanted to check I understand, when I create a new account I would specify another blog name as the first blog, then transfer the blog I want to move to the new account and then delete the blog I used when creating the new account?

You don’t need to specify a blog name when you open an account – but a blog name is reserved for the account name

Just create the new company account – then transfer the blog you want to the new account

When you open a new account the first thing requested is a url.
The url I want already exists in my account so I can’t create it directly when I create a new account. It will be created when I transfer the blog from my account to the new account.

Hi Just wanted thank all for your help especially timethief for pointing me in the right direction with http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account. If you’re reading this ’cause you have a simular question, just like to point out that in the above link if you want to transfer a blog go to
Transferring Your Blog to Another WordPress.com User or Account and not “moving between wordpress.com blogs” as I mistakenly did.
