how to move a comment from one post to another

  hello,

  I have comments to certain posts; however I wish to delete some of these posts, yet I would like to preserve the comment that went with the post;

  so, is there a way to move comments from one post to another post, or some way, in general, of consolidating comments?

  justjennifer, thanks for pointing that out; indeed I could not find my older post;

  so, do you have any thoughts as to being able to move/consolidate comments??

  Shannon, to find the post you have started, or have posted in, click on your username at the top of the forum pages and it will bring up a list for you.

  I don’t think there’s any way except to manually cut and paste it. But be careful to (a) make sure the comment is attributed correctly and (b) make sure that it doesn’t change the meaning of what’s said when it’s stuck in another discussion.

  If it were my comment, I would be very unhappy to see it moved since comments are made in the context of a particular post and discussion. Why do you want to delete the post anyway?

  rosclark, thanks for your response;

  I would like to move comments because I have multiple identical posts, and each post has comments attached to that unique ‘clone’;

  I have multiple identical posts because I will copy a post and paste it into a blank new post in order to place it at the top of a page, such as the POETRY page ( available in the tags list in the righthand-side of the wordpress.com page );

  of course I have ended up with a mess, so I would like to consolidate the comments ( ie move a comment from one post to another ‘cloned’ post );
