How to move a video from media library

I have a video in my media library which is dated July 7 and is marked image #3932. I would like to send it to someone for use on their website or for posting on You Tube. How can I do that? thanks, Paul @Blogfinger.net

  • Howdy,

From the list in the media library, you can hover with your mouse over the name of the video (IMG_3932) and click the Edit link that appears. On the right-hand page of the video’s “Edit Media” page, you’ll see a box labeled “File URL:” You can copy and paste that address and e-mail it to whomever you need to.

That would allow them to download the original movie file, which they can then upload onto YouTube or another video sharing service.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thanks for using WordPress.com!

Thank you, but I got to the edit page, and the copy item in that file url menu doesn’t work. It is grayed out and wouldn’t let me copy the address. Please advise. Thanks, Paul @Blogfinger

  • Hi again Paul,

Yes, it’ll be greyed out, but should still allow you to copy and paste it. I’ll e-mail the link to the e-mail address on file for your user account. Since the answers on this forum are public, I wouldn’t want to reveal this URL without your prior permission.

Please standby for the e-mail from WordPress.com. Thanks!
