How to Move WordPress to another Hosting

  Hi all!

  I’m sure you brilliant guys here can help me solve my problem in no time – I want to move my COMPLETE WORDPRESS BLOG to another hosting.

  I already tried uploading a fresh copy of wordpress onto my new hosting and then I backed up the SQL DBASE from my old one and imported it into my new one. But everytime I access the site, it navigates me back to my old site!

  I would really appreciate it if someone could talk me through it step by step.

  You’re at wordpress.com and need to be at http://wordpress.org/support

  Are the name servers pointing to your new host. If they are still pointing to wordpress.com it will come back here. Name servers look like ns1.yourhost.com

  Yes, the name servers are properly configured. I can access HTML pages on my new host fine, the only problem is, if i try wordpess, it navigates me back to the old host…

  I think Ill try the export feature. But when I click the ‘download’ button, I just get a new page full of text… How do I download the actual export file??

  There are entries in the php files and such that will have to be edited, and they will be able to help you at the link ellaella posted above.
