How To Not Get Email Subscription But Still Follow

WordPress seems to have integrated a new following/subscribing system; first when i used to click follow, i would not get the email subscription but just the plain following option where i could access the blogs from “Read Blogs” option. But now, everytime i click on follow, i get email subscription.
Can anyone tell me how to follow a blog but not get email subscription? Because the only thing i seem to find is unfollow the blog, which i do not wanna do.

In addition to what kellywpa posted for greater clarity you can see an illustartion of what to do in the support documentation.
Click the Manage Delivery Settings link under Read Blogs to change your default email delivery methods for all the blogs you follow. http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#manage-email-delivery-settings -

How can I counter this, by forcing my followers to get my emails whether they want them or not? You sign up, so it’s your moral duty to read my post, daily, twice.

You cannot force me to accept your emails. If you could do that I would unsubscribe immediately. Your subscribers have the right to choose how often they received updates of your postsm and whether or not they receive them by email or read them in WordPress.com Readomattic or another feedreader.
