How to not send updates to my feed

How can I choose to not send certain posts to my feed? If I edit a typo, I don’t want the post to be sent to my feed’s readers again, but if I make a serious update to a post, I want it to send the post to the feed again. Is there any way to control that?

Nope. The lowest setting for the number of posts in a feed is 1.
To avoid this problem you describe I tried to set it to 0.
    It didn’t work – it became 1.

The only way to avoid what you are saying is just save the item as a draft (don’t publish it) until you have time to review it for spelling and mistakes. Why would you want the post on your site with spelling mistakes either ;)

Hi there. :) I think the OP is indicating that the post in question has already been published with minor errors and he or she wants to correct the error but also prevent the readers from getting a second copy after a minor edit has taken place. If that’s the case then it’s a “no can do” answer. We cannot set our feeds to less than 1 post, either full text or summary.

Unless I am missing something here, simply editing an older post will not make it show up again in the feed as the last 10 posts are only shown based on timestamps. If you don’t want a post to show up, edit the timestamp so it is not a new post. If you want it to show up again, edit the timestamp so that it is one of the newest posts.

Yes, I’m talking about editing published posts – either to fix a typo, or add a hyperlink to related posts that were written AFTER the one I’m editing, or whatever.

trent, I edited a post that was almost a month old, just to see if it would show up in my feed reader again. It did not. Thanks for the tip.
