How to obfuscate mail adresses in posts?
-
Hi,
I was wondering how I can enable obfusciation of mail addresses in a way that spam bots are not able to just grab them.
Maybe a text-to image converter or a javascript-“encryption”.
Who knows how to do this on wordpress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress doesn’t have a text-to-image converter. What you could do is either do one yourself in Photoshop (or similar program) or use an Email Image Generator. Once you have the image you upload it to your wp account and point to that image every time you want to display your email address.

Another alternative would be to use the contact form instead of posting an email address.

I decided to use the http://www.addressmunger.com/ and now also offer a contact form. I think wordpress.com should obfuscate all mail links by default to protect them or at least offer a switch to opt to do so. There are enough methods available (ASCII, JavaScript), and they are better than nothing.

Why would wordpress.com offer automatic email address munging when we can do it free of charge?

Here is another choice for obfuscating your email with a short link → Publish Your Email Safely On The Net With Scr.im

LOL … this is hilarious. :D
That one is included in the onecoolsite link Panos posted above. It’s also the same link devblog posted. The email address munger is also included in the post on onecoolsite. -

LOL :D IMHO the very best option of all is to use the contact form as design simply suggested.
