How to only leave latest post on the home page?

Guys sorry for appeal for help, seems really basic I know.. but I’m struggling with trying to remove my older pieces of work from the main home page but still leaving them accessible through categories. I’ve got 4 posts on my homepage and I’d like only the latest post to be up. Thanks in advance.

Go to settings > reading and set it to show 1 post. This will also affect the categories, tags and archives pages, so they will only display one post at a time as well. There is no way to set them differently.
You can however use the archive short code to create a list of all your posts (titles only) on a static page. You could call it “Post Index” or something like that.

Using Read More would also make the Posts not run forever on the front page – make the front page less of a turn off with the scroll on forever.
