How to open an a fullsize image from a thumbmail in a html page: not file link
-
Hello ,
i am new to wordpress.
I just made a new blog http://smosse.wordpress.com
It is intented to be a photo blog.
Actually on each post i have an image wich is show as a thumbnail.
I have add the ‘link to original file’ so user can see the full image. but it is not really ‘sexy’ to have the picture like this in a sad blank page
http://smosse.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/p1000376_1.jpgSo when someone click on my thumbnail, can i open my full image in an html page so i can add a nice border, have it centered and with a black background for exemple ?
thx !

I don’t know of a way to do that (other than hosting the originals outside your blog).
Easy thing to do: after uploading and before inserting, select the “Post URL” option (so that the images will open in an “attachment page” similar to that of your blog).
You can do the same for the images you have alrady uploaded: click the “Add an Image” button, click “Media Library”, click “Show” for the image you want, select “Post URL” and reinsert.
But note that this will limit the enlarged view to the maximum width allowed by the theme you’re using.
