How to open photo directly without photo page?

It used to be that when you clicked on a photo on my blog, it would take you to a screen with the photo only. In my latest posts, it takes you to a screen that has my blog theme and the photo all by itself. I prefer to have the photo only, no theme; in this way people can view the full size photo without having to click through an additional screen. Not sure how or why it changed and can’t seem to find an option to change it back.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

    Hi Scott:

There’s an option you can set on each image to control what happens when clicked.

To see the option, do the following:

    1. Go into edit mode for a post with an iamge
    2. Click on the image
    3. Click on the icon in the upper left corner of the image
    4. You should see a list of properties for the image.
    5. Where it says Link URL, make sure the field is blank.
    6. Then click the “Link to image” button underneath the Link URL field

This should put the URL for the actual image into the Link URL field, which will have the desired behavior.

I was just coming back to post that I figured it out:

If you click “current” it links to a page (of your photo on a screen with your background theme), if you click “link” it makes it so that a click on your photo goes to a browser window with the photo only.

And I seem to remember that WordPress.com “remembers” your most recent choice about image link selection and then applies that to any further uploads, so that may also have been the culprit.

yes, I think so; I have noticed that it keeps your last setting….
