as an example my men should be something like : food finds , road trips, etc . i want to post blogs that should go under one of these menus . i figured out how to do the above with webpages . but problem is when i publish something as a page , it doesnt show up as blog on my first page . i want the last post to display on front page .
so, need a better way to arrange blogs (as opposed to pages.)
    any advice/help is appreciated

Hi there! Try creating Blog Posts instead of Pages. This way, the latest ones will show up on your homepage.

In order to display blog posts in your Menu (food finds, road trips, etc), you can add Categories or Tags to each post (look under “Categories & Tags” in the left-hand column as you are editing a post).

Then, under Menus, you can link to your different Categories or Tags.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to reply.

    Happy blogging!

    thanks Jef!
can the categories be added to the menu? and displayed on the front page?

Yes, categories can indeed be added to the menu! To do this:

    1. Visit Menus in your Admin section, then select the menu you previously created.
    2. Click “+” on the right, next to an existing entry.
    3. Click “Add menu item above” (or below)
    4. Click “Category” on the left
    5. Select the category you’d like to add to the menu.

    Hope this helps!
