How to overflow text from footer widget 1 area into footer widget 2 area

    In Modern News theme there are 3 footer widget areas.
    I have a text widget in footer areas 1 & 3. I would like to overflow the large amount of text in footer 1 across both areas 1 & 2. I have tried putting a text widget (no content) into area 2 and also no text widget in area 2 but, no success.
    How do I implement?
