How to overwrite style.css in custom.css – Hueman Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I want to change my theme, when I editing file I saw this:

WARNING! DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE!
To make it easy to update your theme, you should not edit the styles in this file. Instead use the custom.css
file or a child theme to add your styles. You can copy a style from this file and paste it in custom.css
or the child theme’s style.css and it will override the style in this file. You have been warned! :)

But when I in Themes option changed:

    Load custom stylesheet [ custom.css ]

in ON and editing file custom.css
    it still doesn’t working.

I only want to delete share buttons in left, make a wider space for content(actually is shorter, because share buttons take this place) and then add new add box.
I adding picture to better describe my problem.

PS. Sorry for my english I ain’t native speaker.

    re: http://heliav.wordpress.com/

That theme does not exist here at WordPress.COM. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
    upload any third party themes,
    create child themes,
    create our own themes,
    edit templates,
    create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.

    Relevant support docs:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

You cannot upload any third party themes into a WordPress.COM hosted blog so be clear on that. There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.

WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. To read all the differences go to http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you are referring to a different site and it is a WordPress.ORG software install read one.

WordPress.COM hosted blogs are the only ones we provide support for here. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
