How to paginate the Something Fishy Theme? (for people who are not experts)

How do I create the pagination in the Something Fishy Theme? If some form of coding is involved, where do I place the code (i.e before or after title, body, etc)? I have searched the internet. The one place I found stated “put this code in the functions.php” but did not state specifically where in the functions.php. I would rather not use a plugin because I’ve noticed that several plugins cause my site to do some strange things. After I uninstalled 4 of the plugins everything started working fine.

Now, I am trying to figure out a straightforward way (that is for people who do not know, php, ess, etc) that I can create the pagination.

So, please let me know what code to place (and specifically where) to get pagination for the Something Fishy Theme or where I can locate the information. Thank you

That is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click that link and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers re: plugins.
