How to paste a word document and preserve the formatting?

I do not understand how to paste in a word document and keep the formatting. This always worked perfectly for me so I am not sure why you changed this feature. “Toggling” didn’t work. This is a real problem for me.

    Hi there,

Please note that while Microsoft Word is a fine word processor for producing documents; however, as a web publishing too it is a little less than ideal and produces very messy HTML. Therefore, I highly recommend drafting up your posts within the editor.

If not, you can paste as text within the editor, and it will remove the formatting. Please view more about why here:

    Microsoft Word

Please let me know if you have any questions!

I never had any problem pasting in Word documents when the WP editor had the paste from Word option. I do compose my posts in the editor, but I also post documents such as long and complicated cultural information about plants as documents on pages. These are already composed in Word and would be very difficult to work with in the WP editor. I used to be able to paste them in and now I can’t. What is the point of changing this when it worked? How do I get these documents onto my WP site now?

You can read more about why these changes were made here:

Since Paste as Word will not be returning, if you want to upload documents, take a look here:

    Upload a Document

If you don’t want to just add a download link, you can embed a Microsoft Word Document if you have Microsoft OneDrive as seen here:
