How to point domain to BlueHost?

  • Unknown's avatar

So I bought my domain from WordPress.com. Then I decided I wanted to use WordPress.org and Bluehost. When signing up for BlueHost, I put down that my domain was joinherleague.com Unfortunately, I just bought the domain so I cannot transfer it until 60 days.

I know there is an option to change name servers. So I went to the DNS and changed the name servers from WordPress.com to BlueHost ones.

However, I’m a little confused on how it works. Do I have to do someone on BlueHost for the pointing to be complete? And when do I know it’s complete?

I installed WordPress onto Bluehost using the one-click install for joinherleague.com. It said it was successful. But when I go to JoinHerLeague.com, it still takes me to the old WordPress.com blog/admin site.

Do I just have to wait for it process? Help would be much appreciated.

  • I am seeing http://joinherleague.com/ point correctly to your bluehost site.

It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency.

Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
