how to point the front page to a specific page

I have 4 pages in my blog dashskincare.wordpress.com, one of which i titled ‘home’ page. I want that page to come up as the front page which displays blog posts.

At the moment, blog posts display on http://dashskincare.wordpress.com but not on http://dashskincare.wordpress.com/home-2/ which is the url of my home page.

Please note i do not want to have static home page, i simply want a dynamic front page to point to the page called ‘home’ – is that possible?

In other words, i want http://dashskincare.wordpress.com to point to the page called ‘home’

I already asked this question but received no answer. It is driving my crazy. Maybe the answer is to start fresh with a new blog and move all of the content over. But this is quite tedious.

    Many thanks in advance.

By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Why do I now have two home pages in my navigation?
If setting up a static front page gives you two home links you can solve this problem by setting up a custom menu. From http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Thanks timethief for your response. Its all useful knowledge but doesn’t solve my problem of making front page (with posts) being the same as page called ‘home’. (I don’t want it to be static.)

I think i might have messed up the structure of the site while i was learning how to set it up. When I made a new ‘test’ blog, it automatically made a page called ‘home’ which is the front page and displays posts. Which is exactly what i want. I might have to start from scratch :(

For example timethief, your own site has the structure i want, you have a page called home which is the same page that shows up when you go to its front page http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com and not need to go to http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/home

    http://dashskincare.wordpress.com/home-2/
is not your home / front page. It’s just an empty static page.
Your front / home page is this:
    http://dashskincare.wordpress.com/

Did you try to set up a custom menu, adding a “home” page to it? If so, then just delete that custom menu and let the theme provide links to your pages, including your built-in home page.

You don’t need a custom menu to display your other regular static pages unless you want them in a specific order. At any rate, here is an article about making a custom menu with a proper home page for your posts:
