How to post blog as a separate page?

    I have set up my site using Theme 2011, and have designated the main page as ‘static’. Yet when I try to post a test for the actual blog that I intend to use, it replaces the main page!
    How do I leave the main page intact,, and have the blog show up in a separate page?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
