how to post without sending emails to subscribers
-
I want to post an article as a reference. I want it to appear in the gallery just like all other articles I have posted. However, I do not want this one emailed out to subscribers. How can I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The best way to do that would be to first publish the post as a private post as explained here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#private-post
Then, once the post is published, you can switch the visibility to public. The private post will not get sent out to your followers and switching it to public won’t trigger an email either.
Can you give that a try?

Good advice. WIll give it a try, but not until I get back to it tomorrow morning. Thanks

you wrote: “The private post will not get sent out to your followers and switching it to public won’t trigger an email either.”
HORRIBLE ADVICE! And it didn’t work.
The article I DEFINITELY DID NOT want emailed out was posted as a private post. When the private option was removed, it was email to each and every subscriber.
If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t give advice.

I really apologize for that. That’s completely my mistake. For future reference to anyone reading this, the entire blog must be temporarily set to private for the new post email not to get sent out:
