How to Prevent Background Image Flashing Before Full Page Load (Function Theme)
-
I’m currently working on a WordPress site using the Function theme, and I’m running into an issue with page loading.
Originally, the theme used a default background image (bg.png — a green forest photo), hardcoded in the theme’s style.css. This image would flash briefly before the page content finished loading when switching tabs or refreshing, which felt unpolished and distracting.
Although the site’s background image was to none, it didn’t stop the default image from flashing during load. So I went into the site files and renamed bg.png -> bg_backup.png to remove the image. That did remove the forest image, but there is still a brief flash of blank background before the page fully loads.
Is there’s a better way to solve this? Ideally, the page should load smoothly without any flashing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there,
Good morning. I hope you’re doing great.
Did you refer to bettinamarks.com as the website where you’re experiencing the issue? If so, it looks like you’re using self-hosted WordPress, not WordPress.com.

Therefore, it’s recommended to open a support ticket at the following URL for WordPress.org support.
