How to prevent Follower notifcation of a scheduled post until it's publish?
-
My site’s Followers are receiving notifications of Scheduled new posts BEFORE the date that the post is scheduled to be published. This defeats the purpose of setting a scheduled date!
The Followers only receive an error 404 message when they try to open the ‘new’ post … which just prompts them to contact me and ask. I don’t want to discourage them! So how can I (or WordPress) set the Follow rules to only notify Followers when a post is ACTUALLY published? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you’re using the new Beep Beep Boop editor to create posts, try switching to the classic editor. It’s what I use, I schedule posts every day, and I have no complaints from users.

I really do not want to start
- trying
solutions that could only result in more notifications going out to Followers if they have no affect.
And on the face of it, I do not see why using either the new or original editors should make a difference. -
Thank you raincaster, and any others pondering my ‘problem’.
I think I have found the cause. One of my co-editors now thinks that in error or without realising the significance, that he ‘Published Now’ the rogue post before resetting the published date to a later, Scheduled, date. -

Thanks for letting us know the cause of the mystery.
If it happens again with out human help, please let us know!
