How to prevent linking the title to a single-post page?

Using the default Kubrick theme with a few text widgets for a simple non-comment blog. How can you turn off the href link from the entry title to stop a new page from appearing? The html is different (missing divs, different order of divs) on the second page and throws off our customized layout. Preventing a viewer from clicking through would be by far the easiest answer, if possible. < dineila.wordpress.com >

Seems like to me it would have been easier for you to use a static page instead of all that coding for a post.
And you couldn’t have picked a worse theme to work with. Kubrick is horrible and doesn’t follow normal stuff.

Thank you for the comment.. where do you have info on ‘static pages’, and what are they in the WordPress definition of things? That would probably help to know. and.. if Kubrick is horrible, why on earth is it the default?! That makes no sense at all. So, given that we really want just a simple posting front end display, with control over the look, what do you recommend?

Kubrick is the default because it is the oldest, which is also why it’s not as easy to work with as the subsequent themes.
I do not believe what you want re:titles is doable at WordPress.com.

I looked at the post/static page… I think we’re still better with posts, to get a chronological list of entries, keeping the latest at the top (please correct me if I’m wrong). It seems that we need the simplest one that has a header image, no nav tabs and shows widgets on all pages. Do you have a recommendation, as it would be a pain to switch to another and then find that it, too, is difficult to work with.
