How to prevent prefetching of wordpress pages

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
wordpress.com is using apparently prefetching of pages by he browser.

    Example: On my page
    https://wordpress.com/sites
    I click on
    https://wordpress.com/stats/insights/2012reisen.wordpress.com
The resulting statistics page is not large but the browser (Firefox 43.0.3 for Linux), after having loaded that statistics page, begins immediately with loading the blog page itself (http://2012reisen.wordpress.com).

Regarding my limited bandwidth of 1 Mbit/sec and the blog size of > 2GB: I would rate this as not acceptable!

Even after telling Firefox not to use prefetching (by setting network.prefetch-next to false) nothing has changed.

    Please help me.
    Peter
