How to prevent Twenty Thirteen from resizing pictures?
-
I am using the Twenty Thirteen theme, and I’ve widened the content area to where I want it. But it’s still limiting the pictures I post (in this case to a static page) to 604px wide. I have changed every reference to the number ‘604″ in the css (using the custom css editor), but nothing has worked. I’ve removed automatic image sizing in media settings as well. Such a simple thing, but I’m pulling my hair out.
I’m a novice user. Please be gentle. -
This site is not wearing the Twenty Thirteen theme http://greencarrot.wordpress.com/
I’m sorry but we cannot provide accurate answers to any blogger who fails to provide the exact URL starting with http:// for the exact blog they refer to so we can verify where it is hosted. Please do that now.

Sorry, that’s not the blog in question. It’s this one: http://gck.stephaniezara.com/
You can see the image above all the LINK boxes is coming up very small. The original is over 900px wide, and will fit just fine, but it’s being resized by the theme, even when the image tag tells it to display it at the correct dimensions.

That is a powered by wordpress site ir. a WordPress.ORG install. This is the WordPress.COM support forum. Here we provide support only for blogs hosted by WordPress.com
You are referring to a WordPress.ORG software install and you need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

The only solution I can think of (though I haven’t tried it yet) is creating a new div area and setting the image I want as a background image. A lame workaround, but if nothing else works…
