how to preview a post instead of it posting the whole thing

  How do I change the theme so that it only previews a post instead of listing the whole thing? Not sure if that makes sense.

  I want it so you have to click on the post to read more instead of it all. Hope that makes sense!

  Hi @obamasbestfriend!

  Two options! To have the theme automatically shorten your posts for you, click on My Site > Customize > Content Options.

  Choose Post Excerpt to have the theme display just excerpts.

  For more fine-tuned control, you can leave that setting as it is, and start adding More Tags to your posts – that way you get to choose exactly where each post is stopped :)

  Hi,

  I am having the same issue. I am using the template TwentySixteen, and there doesn’t seem to be a Post Excerpt option. Is that because the theme I am using doesn’t support that function? I love the design of this theme but having excerpts is important for me.

  Hi @freckledfoodienyc!

  That’s correct, the Post Excerpt option isn’t built into Twenty Sixteen. the More Tag option will work instead though :)
