  Microsoft WORD is not web compliant. It contains junk code. http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/ What do you intend to do? If you wish to move content to another blog then you ought to use export and import.
  If you are focused on backup copies then know that if you use Windows Live Writer there qwill be a backup copy of everything you create in it and publish to your blog on your own computer. If you want you can enable a “print” button feature under Sharing > http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing
