How to publish a post without notifying subscribers
-
Hi,
I want to put some articles in my blog for the purpose of giving links to these articles from a post I’m writing. I do not want these articles to be considered as new posts so that my subscribers and rss readers do not get notified about them.
I did not find any reference to such an option in the support site but I assume that this is possible (???) – how do I do it?
Thanks
AvivThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry but that can’t be done. We can only change the display here > Settings > Reading and we cannot reduce the number of items displayed in our RSS feeds to 0 (zero).

It might be possible by back-dating them, ie under Visibility setting the date/time of posting to be previous to the prior post. I’m not entirely sure that works, though, but you could test it yourself with one article.

There is apparently no solution to avoid your email subscribers from getting your posts even if you backdate them.

Yes I know because I tried the backdate and it bombed. :( I would love to be able to set my RSS post (entries) feed to 0 (zero) as there are occasions like the one described here when doing so would be a boon. The default is one (1) post displaying the feed whether we want it or not. :(
