How to publish posts to our blog using Jabber IM?
-
How can we publish new posts to our wordpress.com page as it is shown in this video: http://wordpress.tv/2009/10/09/realtime-blogging-with-im/
When I use the “sub” command on Pidgin (Windows 7), it doesn’t opens any new chat window.
I tried publishing something new on my blog, it did opened the IM window. But when I type “on” in it, it says command not recognized.Probably things have changed after this video. If I type “Hello” to the bot, it doesn’t recognizes that either. But there gotta be some way to publish a post using the Jabber IM.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think the Jabber integration goes the other way: in that, when you publish a post, that news is distributed on Jabber.

@rain, the video suggest that you can post to your blog by just typing “on” into the conversation with the “(email visible only to moderators and staff) and then when you are finished, you type “off” and it quits posting to your blog. The video is from a year ago though and the support doc doesn’t indicate you can post. Perhaps it didn’t work out.

Actually the video suggest that we first subscribe to our own blog. After that, a new IM window will be opened, with the title as that of our blog address. And we’ve to type “on” and “off” in that window to start/stop publishing.
Weird, why would we need to to subscribe to our own blog!

Don’t know, but the support document here does not say anything about posting to your blog from jabber.
Contact staff.

If you would, for the benefit of others in the future, pop back here and post what they tell you. I’m curious to know if it still works or not.

Ok got a response from WordPress staff. He said we could have done this before, but this feature is no more available and there’s no date of it’s return yet.
Too bad :(
