How to Pull Site Offline

  How do you pull the site from being public, but not delete it? I have no idea what I’m doing with WordPress, so until I figure it out, I am using SquareSpace. I’d love to be able to come back to WordPress in the future once I have had some time to legit develop an okay site! I feel like this is a really, really basic question. Any ideas?

  To change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings
