How to put a buy me a coffee icon and link in my navigation bar

I can’t afford a business plan (yet). We’ll see in the future, but right now it’s not in the cards. So I can’t use the ‘buy me a coffee’ plugin, but I’d like to post a with a link to my buy me a coffee payment page in my navigation sidebar. Is that easy to do?

Since plugins aren’t available on your current plan, I recommend using the Payments block as an alternative. With WordPress.com Payments, you can accept credit and debit card payments for goods, services, subscriptions, memberships, donations, and more.
In your case, the Donations Form block works well as a “Buy Me a Coffee” style option. You can learn more about it here:
Using the Donations BlockTo activate the Payments block, you’ll need to connect a Stripe account to your site. Instructions on how to do that can be found here:

I don’t want to do that. What I want to do is put a little widget for ‘buy me a coffee’ in the navigation bar, that was the question.

I took a look at your site and saw that you’ve successfully added a ‘Donate to the Site‘ button to your navigation bar — great job! It looks fantastic and blends in really well with your overall design.
