How To Put a Tag-board?
-
How can I put a tag-board at my blog here at wordpress? I don’t want it at my sidebar but I want to put it at a specific page like “tag-board”. By the way, I use Cbox.
Maybe you can help me about this. Is it even possible for me to put a tag-board at my blog in the first place?
-
I miss cbox too. I don’t think they’ve made it possible yet. You can put up who posted comments through a widget, but not the actual comment itself.
-
Currently, you can’t. It usually requires some sort of scripting which gets stripped by wordpress when you hit the save button.
There’s another thread running about this further down the page where a blogger is gonna try adding a tag cloud to his sidebar. You might wanna keep an eye on that thread too.
-
Oh, okay. Thanks. I hope in the future they’ll allow us to put tag-boards. Lol.
Where can I find the thread you’re talking about? :) @ conrnell

Not being able to put tagboard is by far the biggest disadvantages of moving to wordpress.
:(
-
I rather have my blog in place and secure than having it hacked. I don’t see it as a disadvantage.

I’ve just released a tagboard plugin which supports WordPress MU (which I believe is running WordPress.com – but I could be wrong).
I’ve also got a “recent commenters” and “top commenters” one that works with MU.
I will try to track down who the appropriate point of contact is in order to offer to allow these to be used for free on wordpress.com, if they wish to do so.
-
I should probably add that these are already packaged as “widgets”, which should make the adoption fairly easy.
-
Cool, I should submit it over at the MU forums, I guess.
I did submit a support ticket via the online system on wp.com last night, so we’ll see what comes of that. Maybe I should try a direct e-mail as well so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle?
What I really want to avoid is making it seem like I’m just trying to pimp my plugins, which is why I haven’t linked to them here, etc. I just wanted to make them available (for free of course) if the wp.com folks decide they fit in with their system.
-
Thanks. Looks like a pretty good community resource over there that I should try to be more involved in.
I also notived after heading over there that MU is getting ready for a 1.0 release, so I should probably check out the latest release candidate (I’ve just been playing with recent nightly build up until now).

You cannot have a shoutbox here. WordPress.com programming strips out all javascript, iframes, forms and flash embeds for security reasons. You can drag and drop your meebo widget into the sidebar and register with meebo. Then you will have messanging.
-
No tag board? No WordPress. I will remain at Blogger. It is much primitive but you can do things like that, which are important for my blog.
People from WordPress: What you are thinking about?
-
You can have a tagboard if you either self host software downloaded from http://wordpress.org on your own server or hire a web host to do the same.
-
Um, that security is important, something that Blogger lacks. If you don’t understand that, well I feel sorry for you.
