How to put pages on a custom menu with a Chateau Theme

I am confused about pages/posts. I have my blog posts figured out but I can’t figure out how to get pages onto my custom menu. My theme supports it but when I choose menu on my dashboard I don’t get an option to move pages onto it. I tried creating a category called writing and moved that category onto my custom menu but I don’t know how to get pages into categories either. It seems I either have each individual page listed on the top bar where I wanted a nested menu to be or an empty writing menu. What I want is a custom menu with the listings of – categories – with choices nested, writing – with choices nested.

  • You’ll need to check the pages you want to add, then you can drag them around.

Thank you macmanx but…I did follow the tutorial and created a new custom menu but my Pages aren’t offered as an option to drag . Only “Theme Locations” “Custom Links” and “Categories”. Is there some way to open my Pages editor or some list of my Pages in the Menu Create window? I can go to Pages and check the boxes but there is no option there to put them in the Menu. Am I just an idiot?

  • Once you check the boxes next to your desired pages, click the “Add to Menu” button.
